Einstein had hormones and meiosis can result from frisky mattress conquests. While we rarely discuss the overlap between sex and science, the two are intimately linked, a fact proven repeatedly during science-rich ´80s teen films. Thanks to cinematic gems like Real Genius, Revenge of the Nerds, and Weird Science, we all know that nerdy boys are hot and well-endowed cheerleaders fall for them.

Bear and Bird Gallery (4566 N. University Dr., Lauderhill) sees the artistic potential of merging beakers and booty, so in its newest show, “Sex and Science,” local and national artists are given carte blanche to develop and explore how the two interact. Since most pieces will have a retro lean, you could see everything from busty pinup gals attempting to focus their microscopes to robots soldering the perfect metal mates. There will also be a living, dancing, gyrating reminder of our own sexuality when the fabulous Torchy Taboo performs a burlesque routine at 9:30 p.m. Science will be dropped by DJ Sensitive Side. The gallery show begins at 7 p.m. and will be displayed through September 22. Enjoy complimentary wine and cheese with free admission. Call 954-748-0181, and visit www.bearandbird.com.
