Sushi and Be Seen

By John Linn

Published on September 06, 2007

If there was a single cuisine that represented all that is fashionable, hip, and trendy, it would have to be sushi. Check the facts: It’s neatly wrapped and self-contained; you can eat it and not worry about dripping on your expensive Izod shirt; and it actually looks as good as it tastes. Which is why Thursday’s Benefit Fashion Show at RA Sushi (11701 Lake Victoria Gardens Ave., Palm Beach Gardens) is such a perfect fit. The sushi house will be inviting local radio personalities and writers from the Palm Beach Post to model edgy fall fashions from American Soul, LF, Barbara Palacios, and Izod, while diners munch on RA’s delectable Fashion-Rolls (a specialty tuna roll paired with RA’s special fashion-sauce) and their sake-laced Fashion-Tinis. The most fashionable news of all? All proceeds from the goodies sold during the show will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The catwalk gets cranking at 6 p.m., and the strutting won’t stop till 8. Call 561-340-2112, or visit www.rasushi.com.
