Sex, Drugs, and Rock Musical

“Sodomy, Fellatio, Cunnilingus, Pederasty…” This may sound like a list of crimes, but they’re lyrics — from a musical. Clearly, we’re not talking Oklahoma! The Lake Worth Playhouse (713 Lake Ave., Lake Worth) invites all to their $100,000 Gala, a fundraiser with a special evening performance of Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical. This show not only offers lyrical lists of sex acts, but also refers to anyone with a negative view on pot smoking as being “full of shit.” The event features Lake Worth Mayor Jeff Clemons cutting the ribbon to the theater’s new marquee, with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 7:30 p.m., with the production following. While the rock in “rock musical” may be debatable, the anti-war, anti-racism, and anti-establishment sentiment is not.
