If this Cooking is Light, I Dont Wanna Be Wrong
Published on November 12, 2008 at 12:03am
Good news, Francophiles: Cooking Light, the nations largest food and healthy living magazine, is holding an event in Fort Lauderdale aimed squarely at your chèvre-loving stomachs. Today at 6 p.m., filets will be seared, pears caramelized, and blue cheese
er, cheesed. Cooking Light resident chef Billy Strynkowski will host a French Bistro Supper Club at the Ritz Carlton (1 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd.). In addition to penning a monthly column and cooking for stars like Mick Jagger, Tiger Woods, and Lance Armstrong, Chef Billy travels the country for the magazine, hosting supper clubs and spreading the word that eating light isnt exclusive to good living. For tonights menu, Chef will prepare a four-course meal mouthwatering enough to have your fork storming the plate like soldiers on Normandy Beach. He'll determine the preparation method for all of the many dishes on offer: handmade mixed olive tapenade, rustic country paté, pan-seared filet mignon with green peppercorn sauce, haricots verts with champagne-shallot vinaigrette, and cinnamon crepes with peaches and cream cheese; each course is paired with wine. Tickets to your own French invasion cost $65; get them exclusively online at cookinglight.com/cooking/perks/supperclubs.
