When Amadeo and Gracie Tasca opened Capri Blu a decade ago, they had no idea what obstacles they’d be facing. Many years and a couple of moves later, the barricades have finally cleared: at their new Palm Beach location the Tascas have been accumulating regular customers, who return for the homey feel of the place, the Monday night opera performances, and the food, which tastes home cooked, not just “house-made.” The Tascas hand-pick their tomatoes and green peppers; they buy whole snapper and grouper from fishermen in Riviera Beach and Jupiter; they cut their own pasta; and they consult their own, very individual, recipes for ricotta cheesecake and tiramisu. When you’re served a plate of tagliolini al limoncello, a pure-silk concoction of pliant noodles tossed in butter, cream, and Italy’s lemon- and sun-infused liqueur, you know it’s been made with feeling.
