Crazy Cuban

300 E Boynton Beach Blvd
Boynton Beach, FL 33435
561-734-1544
The Cuban café you long for in your comfort-food-craving moments: cheap and cozy, the soul of Havana served on paper plates at the bar. Crazy Cuban is actually run by a couple of Italian guys, but they learned their trade from a master of ropa vieja, so it’s all authentic. And inexpensive – a plate of that divine ropa vieja, shredded beef cooked in a lip-searing sauce larded with personality, will set you back a mere $11.95, and you may even have enough food left over for tomorrow’s lunch. Marinated pulled pork is magnificent with rice, black beans, and golden fried plantains weeping their little candied hearts out. You can get deep-fried marinated pork chunks slapped between two planks of bread with mojito sauce, a media noche served on egg bread, a Cuban special sandwich piled with ham, bacon, turkey breast, and Swiss cheese. Don’t miss the flakey warm empanadas, filled with beef or chicken, or classic deep-fried potato balls stuffed with minced pork. The presence of Italy makes itself felt with the Italian stallion – a 12-incher loaded with capicolla ham, pepperoni, salami, and provolone, then hot-pressed.
