Food Amongst the Flowers Critics' Pick

2345 Wilton Dr
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33305
954-563-7752
Website
Refurbished in the spot where Costello’s served a mostly gay clientele for nearly a decade, Flowers is elegance itself. Think martinis, piano bar, well-dressed and slightly louche-looking men lounging around on the padded banquettes beneath gigantic Georgia O’Keefian paintings of lilies and roses. The Continental-American fare is interesting enough, without being weird, to keep the regulars interested: delicious crab and green pea soups, blinis with smoked salmon, and fillet carpaccio appetizers; fiochi “money bags” stuffed with pears and ricotta in a tart tomato sauce or spicy seafood diabolo for pastas; rosemary-infused pork loin and New York strip steaks for the meat course. Desserts are served with little carafes of liqueur. Service is gracious. A terrific neighborhood restaurant.
